People will always disappoint each other. It&#8217;s inevitable because we are so selfish by nature- so eager to advance ourselves, disregarding those we leave behind in the process. It&#8217;s inevitable, but the sting is still there.</p> <p>However, I am humbled by the fact that we reject and disappoint God so often, but He is gracious enough to welcome us back with open arms every single time. He longs for us, yet we make excuses to distance ourselves, or just stand Him up completely. He loves us so tremendously, but we are so focused on ourselves that we replace Him the way we fear being replaced. We hurt Him the way so many people have hurt us. So who am I to wallow in such shallow hurt? What right do I have to feel bitter towards people when God is so forgiving of my endless shortcomings. Even just a taste of what He goes through, and i&#8217;m already a mess. I am so quick to accept his grace, yet so hesitant to show the same grace to others. </p> <p>It&#8217;s funny. We can feel so many different emotions all at once, but it&#8217;s always the negative ones that seem to find their way to the top of the pile. No matter how much love is shown, how much encouragement given, in the end we dwell on the disappointment and the rejection. So here&#8217;s to starting afresh: beginning with combatting hate with love. Here&#8217;s to showing even the tiniest bit of God&#8217;s grace to our brothers and sisters at those times when it feels impossible. Here&#8217;s to growing up and owning up. Here&#8217;s to Him.
